Ahhh, Shoes. I Just Love ‘Em. Bring On No. 8

How delightful! The day has arrived for The Stylish Vegan’s favorite commandment of the 10:
Thou shalt wear brown shoes—with nearly everything
In GQ’s words: Black dress shoes are easy—they’re understated and tasteful. Brown dress shoes up the style factor. People notice them. They go best with gray, khaki, or navy. Dark brown shoes are easier to pull off than light brown ones.
In TSV’s words: Ditto. What else is there to say, really?
Not that GQ’s supreme word handed down on that beautiful day oh so many years ago, hasn’t gone without its doubters and detractors. There seems, dear vegan, to be quite a battle over the issue that has raged on for years. But, thankfully, after much lobbying by TSV (well, not really, but it makes me feel important), the debate has eased somewhat. One point that is unanimous is the dressier the occasion, the darker the shoe. Repeat after me, the dressier the occasion, the darker the shoe.
But whatever the shade, it’s easier said than done in our veganistic world of fashion. That is, if you didn’t have your vegan sartorialist in the cyber flesh to assist you. That, vegan nation, would be me.
First on the list, the Justin Brown:

This is a very fine shoe from Novacas. Looks great with any suit. A bit on the conservative side but a fab shoe nonetheless. Novacas seems to design some really fashionable shoes with quality. The pairs in my closet are some of my faves.

Here we have The Henry from Vegan Wares. A bit more boring and certainly wreaking of conservatism, they are actually good shoes. TSV doesn’t own any and, to be honest with you, veganistos, I really don’t plan on it soon. Not that I’m a shoe snob, ok, I am, but I already have several pairs and really don’t see the reason to add these right now. Is that so wrong?
Veganoids, you all are well aware of the old adage, don’t wear loafers with a suit. You’re not? Well, you should be. It’s a grand rule. However, with some fantastic slacks and a sweet sports jacket, for a less exquisite affair, then loafers, albeit stylin’ ones, are quite right. And, as the commandment dictates, these loafers will work fabtastilistically with colors other than tan.

Both of these are available from The Stylish Vegan favorite, Bourgeois Boheme. I love them! Buuutttt, what did TSV request that my friends repeat? You got it, the dressier the occasion, the darker the shoe. So what naturally follows with these kicks? Yep, don’t wear them with a dark suit to a wedding. Pretty simple, eh?
TSV will keep you in the loop as the newest in veg footwear hits the streets. Don’t worry, I got your backs. And just think, it wasn’t too long ago that none of these choices existed. Designers are starting to take notice, vegheads, the styles and choices are not only becoming refined but actually fashionable. Once these dudes realize we’re out here and that The Stylish Vegan is leading the rally, the world of vegan men’s shoes will become oh so lovely.
And now…The VegNews Frivolous Celeb of the Day: Hayden Panettiere (whoever the fuck she is) from some show called Heroes.

Ecorazzi was thrilled that their glam girl was in “Japan earlier this week, protesting commercial fishing that kills hundreds of dolphins each year”. But look how cute she is filling that leather-laden Porsche that stands way taller than she - you can almost here the darn thing gulping it down. Of course we all know dolphins are so much more cuddly than cows, so we’ll overlook that whole dead cow skin thing.
